Former President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden has publicly criticized the Democratic Party for its treatment of his father during the 2024 presidential campaign. In a three-hour interview with Andrew Callaghan of Channel 5, Hunter Biden criticized actor and Democratic Party donor George Clooney for calling on Biden to abandon his 2024 reelection bid. He also criticized longtime Democratic advisers, accusing them of making money off the party and trading off previous electoral successes without helping candidates’ current efforts. Hunter Biden’s son also criticized longtime Democratic advisers, such as Anita Dunn, James Carville, David Axelrod, and Tommy Vietor.

Clooney made his feelings known in an opinion piece in The New York Times, adding his voice to mounting calls for Biden to drop his presidential bid. Biden ended up leaving the race a few weeks later and endorsed his vice president, Kamala Harris, who went on to lose to Trump. Hunter Biden also criticized Biden’s father’s debate performance, which led to calls for his father to step down from the 2024 campaign. Hunter Biden also appeared in an episode of “At Our Table,” a podcast hosted by former Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison, where he discussed the calamitous presidential debate and the mental capacity of Biden.
