The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for over 30,000 wireless power banks, including the ESR HaloLock models, following multiple reports of fires and explosions. The lithium-ion battery in the affected power banks can overheat and ignite, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. The CPSC received nine reports of chargers catching fire and exploding, leading to the recall. No injuries were reported, but the incidents caused about $20,000 in property damage. Customers can receive a refund by emailing support@esrtech.com with their order number and a photo of the recalled power bank. ESR advises disposing of the devices in accordance with local and state hazardous waste regulations.
