President Trump has accused Democrats of paying protesters to fight his Washington, D.C., crime policies. Adam Swart, CEO of Crowds on Demand, explained that his company provides services for advocacy campaigns, demonstrations, PR stunts, crowds for hire, and corporate events. Swart said that all protesters are sincere advocates for the cause at hand, and that compensation for protests is typically in the low hundreds of dollars, depending on the assignment. Swart said organizing a protest “is like buying an ad.” He said his company receives requests for both conservative and liberal causes, and that Democrats are hiring their company, and so are Republicans. Swart did not disclose what protests his company has been asked to be a part of. He previously turned down $20 million to provide protesters for “Good Trouble Lives On” protests in July, rejecting the business due to concerns about its effectiveness and potential negative publicity.
The CEO of a paid protest company asserts that it collaborates with both sides of the political spectrum.
