Israel has witnessed nationwide protests demanding the safe return of hostages held in Gaza, marking one of the largest demonstrations since the start of the war in October 2023. The demonstrations, organized by groups representing hostage families, took place at various locations, including politicians’ homes, military headquarters, and major highways. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opposes any deal that leaves Hamas in power, but many Israelis fear a new military offensive in Gaza could endanger the 50 remaining hostages, 20 of whom are believed to be alive. The day of action culminated in a rally in Tel Aviv, where over 400,000 people gathered, and Israeli police arrested 38 people. The protests were organized by groups representing families of hostages and aimed to bring the 50 remaining hostages back through a deal without games.
