The United States is pushing for an end to the war in Ukraine, with Russian President Vladimir Putin realizing that the US can shut him down with its energy capabilities. Rep. Tim Burchett believes that Putin also realizes that the US can increase production and fluctuate markets under the new EPA. President Trump has spoken with Putin and started arranging a potential bilateral meeting involving Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The meeting will be the first time the two leaders have had a face-to-face meeting since the start of the war in February 2022. Trump has met with Putin and Zelensky on U.S. soil within the last week, and they had a more even-tempered Oval Office meeting in front of TV cameras than in February. This is an early step in a war that has been ongoing for almost four years.
Putin acknowledges that our energy capabilities can be used to “shut him down.”
