Former senior security officials, including former IDF chiefs of staff, intelligence chiefs, Shin Bet and Mossad directors, and police commissioners, have released a joint video calling for the end of the war in Gaza. The video, which includes former IDF chief of staff Ehud Barak, former chiefs of staff Moshe Ya’alon and Dan Halutz, and ex-Shin Bet director Yoram Cohen, argues that Israel has accumulated more losses than victories and that the fighting has dragged on for political reasons rather than strategic military decisions. The video calls for Israel to end the war with a permanent ceasefire and comprehensive hostage deal, releasing all 50 remaining hostages in one fell swoop. The security officials urge those currently in positions of power to take a stance against the continuation of the war and to say what they can and cannot do, even if someone really wants it.
