The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has unilaterally dissolved a collective bargaining agreement with the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Council 238, a union representing 8,000 EPA staffers. Justin Chen, president of AFGE Council 238, criticized the Trump administration’s move as an assault on democracy, the rule of law, and the lives of working people in America. The union, AFGE Council 238, is united in their fight to defend their rights, the agency’s mission, and the future of the country and planet. The EPA spokesperson cited a March executive order limiting union activity at various agencies, while the Department of Veterans Affairs made similar decisions this week. Both agencies’ actions come after a federal court sided with the Trump administration on the issue.
